Personal Information We Collect or Process
When we use the term “personal information,” we mean information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to you. It does not include information that is collected anonymously or that has been de-identified so that it cannot reasonably identify you. Depending on how you interact with the Services and as permitted by law, we may collect or process:
- Contact details including name, billing address, shipping address, phone number, and email address.
- Payment information including payment method, transaction amount, and payment confirmation. Full payment card numbers are processed by our payment providers (including Shopify Payments and other processors we enable). We do not store full card numbers on our own servers.
- Account information including email, password (hashed), preferences, and settings, if you create an account.
- Transaction information including products viewed, cart and checkout activity, purchases, returns, exchanges, cancellations, and order history.
- Communications including information you send in support emails, chats, reviews, or return requests. This may include product-use details or photos you choose to send.
- Product-safety information if you report an adverse reaction or quality issue (for example, the product name, what happened, and optional photos). We use this only to review the report, fulfill legal duties, and assist you—not for marketing.
- Device and technical information including browser type, device type, operating system, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, and unique identifiers.
- Usage information including pages viewed, links clicked, referring URL, dates and times of visits, and how you navigate the Services.
- Marketing and advertising identifiers including cookie IDs, pixel IDs, and similar identifiers used to measure ads and, where allowed, to show relevant ads.
Personal Information Sources
We may collect personal information from:
- You, when you create an account, check out, subscribe to emails, contact support, submit a return, or otherwise provide information;
- Automatically, through the Services, cookies, pixels, and similar technologies;
- Service providers, such as Shopify, payment processors, shipping carriers, email tools, and analytics or advertising partners acting for us or with us;
- Partners or other third parties, for example advertising platforms, fraud-prevention tools, or public sources, where permitted by law.
How We Use Your Personal Information
We use personal information to:
- Provide the store: process orders and payments, fulfill and ship products, handle returns and refunds, create and manage accounts, send order and shipping notices, and provide customer support.
- Improve the Services: remember cart and preferences, understand what products interest you, fix errors, and improve the site and our catalog.
- Marketing and advertising: send promotional emails (only if you opt in or as otherwise allowed by law), measure campaigns, and show ads on our site or other sites based on your activity, where permitted. You can opt out as described below.
- Security and fraud prevention: authenticate accounts, protect checkout, detect abusive or illegal activity, and keep the Services secure.
- Legal and safety reasons: comply with law, tax and accounting rules, respond to lawful requests, handle disputes, enforce our Terms, and review product-safety or adverse-event reports.
We do not use information from adverse-event or medical-type support reports to target ads.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We and our partners use cookies, pixels, and similar tools to run the store, keep you signed in, remember your cart, understand traffic, prevent fraud, and (where allowed) personalize or measure advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where required, through our cookie or privacy banner. Blocking some cookies may limit checkout or site features.
Depending on your location, you may also use the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. Where required by law, we treat a valid GPC signal as an opt-out of “sale” / “sharing” for targeted advertising for that browser. Learn more at https://globalprivacycontrol.org/. Other than GPC, we do not respond to all “Do Not Track” signals.
How We Disclose Personal Information
We may disclose personal information:
- Shopify and service providers that help us operate the store (hosting, checkout, payments, tax, fraud tools, email, customer support, analytics, cloud storage, fulfillment, and shipping).
- Payment processors and banks as needed to complete your transaction and prevent fraud.
- Shipping and logistics partners to deliver orders and process returns.
- Advertising and marketing partners (for example Shopify, Google, Meta, or similar platforms we enable) to measure and, where allowed, personalize ads. Those partners have their own privacy notices.
- When you ask us to, such as shipping to an address you provide or using social login or widgets.
- Affiliates within our corporate group, if any, for the purposes in this policy.
- Legal, safety, and business transfers: to comply with law, respond to lawful process, enforce our terms, protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, financing, or sale of assets.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Under some U.S. state laws, using advertising cookies or sharing identifiers with ad partners can be considered a “sale” or “sharing” for targeted advertising. You can opt out here: https://lorvany.com/pages/data-sharing-opt-out.
Relationship with Shopify
The Services are hosted by Shopify. Shopify collects and processes personal information about your access to and use of the Services to provide and improve them. Information you submit may be transmitted to Shopify and other providers, which may be located in countries other than yours.
We may use Shopify features that involve data from your interactions with our store, other merchants, and Shopify. In those cases, Shopify is responsible for that processing and for requests about that use. See the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy and the Shopify Privacy Portal.
Third-Party Websites and Links
The Services may link to sites we do not control. Their privacy practices apply to those sites. We are not responsible for their content or security. Information you post on public or social platforms may be visible to others according to those platforms’ settings.
Children’s Data
The Services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the higher age required in your country). If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact support@lorvany.com and we will delete it as required by law.
We do not have actual knowledge that we “sell” or “share” (as those terms are defined under applicable U.S. state privacy laws) the personal information of individuals under 16.
Security and Retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Do not send full payment card numbers or sensitive information to us by unencrypted email.
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy, including:
- order, payment, shipping, and return records, typically for at least the period required by tax, accounting, and consumer-transaction laws (often several years);
- account information, while the account is active and for a reasonable period afterward;
- customer-support and product-safety records, as needed to resolve issues and meet legal duties;
- marketing records, until you unsubscribe or we no longer run that campaign, plus a short period to honor the opt-out.
When we no longer need the information, we delete or de-identify it, unless a longer retention is required or permitted by law.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights. They are not absolute; we may decline a request as permitted by law.
- Access / know: request the personal information we hold about you.
- Delete: request deletion, subject to legal exceptions (for example, completed orders we must keep for tax records).
- Correct: request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Portability: request a copy of certain information, or that we transmit it to another controller where technically feasible.
- Opt out of sale / sharing / targeted advertising: opt out here. If you visit with a valid Global Privacy Control signal enabled, we will treat it as an opt-out for that browser as required by law.
- Limit use of sensitive personal information: where this right applies under U.S. state law.
- Email preferences: unsubscribe from promotional emails using the link in the email. We may still send non-promotional messages about orders, shipping, returns, or your account.
- SMS: if you opted in to texts, you can opt out by following the message instructions (for example, reply STOP) or emailing us.
If you reside in the UK or European Economic Area, you may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (withdrawal does not affect processing already done). You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. EEA authorities are listed here.
To exercise rights, email support@lorvany.com, call +1 (914) 339-5540, or use tools shown on the Services. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. We may need to verify your identity. You may use an authorized agent as allowed by law; we may require proof of authorization and may need to verify you directly. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
Shopify-held data can also be requested through https://privacy.shopify.com/en.
Complaints
If you have a privacy complaint, contact us first at support@lorvany.com. Depending on where you live, you may appeal our decision by writing to us, or you may contact your local data protection authority.
International Transfers
We may transfer, store, and process personal information in the United States and other countries. Shopify and other providers may process data outside your country of residence.
If we transfer personal information out of the EEA or United Kingdom, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK equivalent, or a transfer to a country recognized as providing adequate protection, unless another lawful mechanism applies.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page, update the “Last updated” date, and provide additional notice if required by law.
